Hoping everyone has had
a chance to drive around
and take in the show of bril-
liant fall colors displayed on
our trees. Seems they are
much more brilliant than
last year and even on the
dull rainy day can't fade
their true beauty. This is a
painters dream, catching the
fall beauty surrounding
fields and valleys.
Enjoy the sights of geese
flying and feeding in the
fields and the call of Blue
Jays announcing they are
here and the return of Chick-
adees to our feeders.
Being an opotmist, I
believe the sun will shine,
the earth will dry out and the
warmth will return in time
for the waiting farmers to
return to the fields and
gather the crops, work the
land and get home the fire-
wood in good time to settle
down for the winter.

Many of the Women's Insti-
tute Ladies are looking for-
ward to attending the Bruce
County Rally being held at
Port Elgin on Thursday Octo-
ber 23rd.
Continue to be vigilant
while driving and slow down
for the farm equipment on our
roads and I've noticed the
increased presence of deer and
their fawns and turkeys flying
out when we least expect
them. Be Safe Out There!

Fall Colours 2014
The falll colours have been on display for some time now. It is enjoyable when the leaves do
not leave the trees too soon after turning. This was the scene on Bruce Road 7 near Couty Road
86 on the weekend of the Ripley Fall Fair, September 27, 2014.

Have Your Say -
Protecting Energy
Consumers
How well are consumers protected in
Ontario's retail energy market?
That's the question the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is looking at with its review
of the Energy Consumer Protection Act. The Act deals with energy retailing to
low-volume consumers in the province. Just over 300 thousand residential and
small business consumers in Ontario currently have contracts with electricity
retailers; 362,000 have contracts with natural gas marketers.
Please visit www.ECPAreview.ca and fill out the on-line survey to share your
views on consumer protection with the OEB.
Radiothon to raise funds
for the Wingham and Dis-
trict Hospital.
Near the beginning of the
evening an announcement
was made by Russ Taylor of the
Wingham and District
Hospital Foundation that the
Radiothon had netted
$464,000 for area hospitals,
with Wingham raising $81,600.
These totals are before adding
the proceeds from the Girls
Night Out fundraiser.
