Seems they are much more brilliant than last year and even on the dull rainy day can't fade their true beauty. This is a painters dream, catching the fall beauty surrounding fields and valleys. Enjoy the sights of geese flying and feeding in the fields and the call of Blue Jays announcing they are here and the return of Chick- adees to our feeders. Being an opotmist, I believe the sun will shine, the earth will dry out and the warmth will return in time for the waiting farmers to return to the fields and gather the crops, work the land and get home the fire- wood in good time to settle down for the winter. Many ladies from our area Women's Institutes enjoyed the Rose Program hosted by the Karishea WI on Correc- tional Institutions and the 75TH Anniversary for the Burgoyne WI held at the Burgoyne Presbyterian Church last week. Morley and Deanna Scott visited with Frances King- ston at Chesley on Friday. John and Joyce Farrell attended the Annual Meet- ing for the Wool Growers Association held in Leth- bridge Alberta. Congratulations to the Kinlough Anglican Church congregation who cele- brated their 150TH Anniver- sary on October 12th. Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Isabel Brook and Delbert Hedlery at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow. Visiting with Mary Anne were Mary -Lou and Allen Colwell of Harriston and Robert Barry of Ann Arbor. There was great visiting about the Colwell connections. Many of the Women's Insti- tute Ladies are looking for- ward to attending the Bruce County Rally being held at Port Elgin on Thursday Octo- ber 23rd. Continue to be vigilant while driving and slow down for the farm equipment on our roads and I've noticed the increased presence of deer and their fawns and turkeys flying out when we least expect them. Please visit www.ECPAreview.ca and fill out the on-line survey to share your views on consumer protection with the OEB. Radiothon to raise funds for the Wingham and Dis- trict Hospital. Near the beginning of the evening an announcement was made by Russ Taylor of the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation that the Radiothon had netted $464,000 for area hospitals, with Wingham raising $81,600.
