Fiscal Responsibility and Infrastructure are two important
issues facing ACW. Our greatest asset is our youth!
With this in mind I will strive to continue to make ACW a
desirable community to raise our families; a place that
encourages employment and promotes responsible growth
of business and recreation. I will exercise due diligence,
explore and consider all facts in providing progressive, pro-
active and visionary leadership in setting policy and direc-
tion in the best interests of ACW and our residents.

elect me to represent you.
taxes in focus.
My goal, if elected is to do the best for the community. I will be
fair and listen and deal with the concems of the taxpayers.
Councillor for Wawanosh Ward
bine development in our Township. I want to inform resi-
dents about the financial situation of the Township through-
out the year. These are my reasons for wanting to be a
Councillor of Wawanosh Ward of ACW.
Bill Vanstone
I am a candidate for Councillor for Colborne Ward of ACW.
I have many years experience in political roles. In the past I
served on Colborne Township Council as a Councillor for 5
years, Deputy -Reeve for 4 years and Reeve for 9 years. Dur-
ing my term as Reeve I also served on Huron County Council.
My family and I have lived in Colbome all our lives. I have
been involved with community organizations. I was a mem-
ber of the Goderich Lions Club for 15 years, during which
time I served as President for a year. I have coached youth
baseball and helped out with numerous community events.
The important issues facing our community are of course
services and taxes. We want to keep our services high and
Paul Bollinger
My name is Paul Bollinger and I am running for a seat in
the Wawanosh Ward of ACW. My wife Marianne and I have
been married for 42 years. We have 2 daughters, 2 sons
and 10 grandchildren.
We moved from Switzerland to Ashfield Township 27 years
ago. We sold our farm at Glens Hill Road 2 Y2 years ago and
moved to a farm on Be!grave Road in Wawanosh. We are
active large scale rabbit producers and also have some
cash crops.
I graduated as a Registered Forester and from Agricultural
College in Switzerland. I am a member of the Board of
Directors of Ontario Rabbit, Ontario Federation of Agricul-
ture, Ontario Landowners Association and SWEAR (Safe
Wind Energy for All Residents).
I want ACW to thrive and grow. I value fairness in dealing
with people. We need to keep people in our communities, a
Council that respects property rights and promotes busi-
ness growth and also planning policies that are citizen
driven and based on common sense. Drinking water issues
in Dungannon need to be addressed. I have a good relation-
ship with the Amish community in Wawanosh and under-
stand the needs of this community. I oppose the wind tur-
Wayne Forster
I am Wayne Forster running for a Councillor of Wawa -
nosh Ward. I have not been involved in politics before
but have lived in West Wawanosh all of my life, now run-
ning the home farm as a dairy operation with my wife
(Terri) and kids Kyle, Ashley & Shawn. With the support
of my family now is the time for me to be involved in our
Community and help make the right decisions to better
our Township.
In the past I was an active part of the Lucknow Agricul-
tural Society and now am a member of the Wingham
Golf & Curling Club. I also play the organ at area
churches when needed.
Some important issues facing our community that I
would like to be a part of are: road maintenance, wind
turbines, affordable taxes for everyone and keeping our
community school.
If I am elected, my goal is to take peoples' concerns and
desires to council to be heard and dealt with on a fair
level. Everyone that lives in a Community should have
their thoughts and concerns heard and feel proud to live
where they do.
Doug Miller
My name is Doug Miller and I am running for the posi-
tion of councillor in Wawanosh ward. I am just com-
pleting 8 years in that position and would like to con-
tinue to serve the township. Born and raised in Wawa -
nosh, my family lives north of St Helens. There we farm
and I am also self employed as an accountant. My wife
Amy and I have three grown sons who live in the
township, two of whom work locally as well.
I believe the central issue that the township faces in
the next few years will be financial. Funding from the
province continues to decline at a time when we face
rising expenditures. Policing is an example of an item
where we anticipate a large increase that we have no
ability to negotiate or change. As well, we will face
several out of the ordinary demands for funds- medical
facility upgrades in Wingham and Goderich, major
bridge work, a declining gravel resource in township
pits, etc. This year we received an asset management
report that indicates that our annual infrastructure
maintenance needs are over $1,000,000 more than we
are spending at present.
I believe my experience on council and in business
equip me well to assist the township for the next four
years. Council must be open minded and creative,
keeping in mind the wellness of the township as a
whole.
