I was born and raised in Ashfield Township and continue to live on farm in the area with my family. I decided to run for Council as I do not feel that the con- cerns of younger residents are being addressed. I feel that the decisions being made are going to have a long term impact on the future of the Township but are not being made transparent and open to all. I believe there needs to be more of a debate on the future of wind power in the municipality and a more rational stance taken by all sides. If elected to council I would provide insight from a new per- spective. I am Jennifer Miltenburg, a dairy farmer running for Coun- cillor in the Ashfield Ward of ACW. My husband Don and I have three sons and a daughter-in-law whom all live in Ashfield. I have over 35 years of service as a youth leader and with youth sports ; I have over 75 years cumulative with vari- ous local and county organizations where I have held the positions of secretary, treasurer, group leader, director, president, chair and district captain. People are what motivate me. The people in the Ashfield Ward are in turmoil right now due to their differing opinions concerning the K2 Wind project. No matter what the future holds, or what the new reality is, we all need to work ogether to address the challenges and embrace the oppor- unities. I believe the skills I have developed through volun- teerism can help the people of Ashfield navigate these diffi- Jennifer Miltenburg cult times. There are many important issues that affect the entire municipality but the space is unavailable here. If you are interested in where I stand on the budget and taxes, the wind turbine issue, the proposed P2P trail, job creation, youth opportunities, lakeshore erosion, urban revitaliza- tion... I invite you to check out my daily post on Facebook — "Jennifer Miltenburg for ACW Councillor". I say exactly what I think (and I think a lot). If you don't have Facebook access call 529-7640 and we'll chat. Councillor for Colborne Ward I am Arden Eddie. I am running for Councillor of the Colborne Ward of ACW. My wife, Shelley and I have a beautiful daughter, Ashley. We have been coming to the Lake Huron shoreline since 1980. We bought our first property in 1989 and have owned our cur- rent ACW property since 2002. We have lived in Seaforth for the last 10 years. Our home is for sale and we will be moving to ACW. Arden Eddie I volunteered at the Goderich Restore. As a Real Estate Salesperson with Peak Realty Ltd. I work exclusively in the Lake Huron area from Bayfield to Point Clark. I was with the London Majors Baseball Team for 37 years as a player, coach/manager. As sole owner/opera- tor for the last 27 years I organized and implemented a plan to raise funds and awareness for approximately 70 local charities and collected food for the Men's Mission and the London Food Bank. In ACW we need quality jobs for our young people to keep them in the area which means working hand in hand with the Goderich Council. There needs to be more transparency in Council such as more detailed agendas and minutes and a separate page on the ACW website for property owner alerts of issues that will directly affect them. Lake Huron must have water quality issues addressed. Wind Turbines affect property values of neighbouring properties. I am here for you and that is important to You and I. My name is Michael Leitch and I am running for Coun- cillor in the Colborne Ward of ACW. My wife Anne Marie and I have been residents of Colborne since 2003. I grew up on a farm in Goderich Township. I graduated from Fanshawe College as an Electrical Engineering Technician. After a lengthy career with Ontario Hydro, I retired in 2012 from the Clinton office where I was an Area Distribution Engineering Techni- cian. My community involvement includes: Canadian Kennel Club (judge), Friends of Hullett, Ducks Unlimited, chair and treasurer for a youth program at Hullett Marsh and a 10 year member of the Executive of the Huron Fish and Game Association. I was also a member of the Strategy Development Team for the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority. I have been attending Council meetings for two years and see that ACW faces many challenges: maintaining a consistently high service level for our crucial infra- structure and services; respecting taxpayers and hold- ing tax increases to a minimum; coping with provincial regulations and downloading of costs; ensuring Town- ship residents have access to quality medical, educa- tional and recreational opportunities; providing oppor- tunities for youth; facing the ongoing challenges cre- ated by industrial wind energy development - onshore and potentially offshore. It would be my privilege to both represent and work for the residents of Colborne Ward on ACW Council to meet these challenges. Planning an event? Don't forget to advertise!
