Serving Lucknow and surrounding area
by Shag Campbell
In Blyth, on September 8,
2014 Karla Moffat of Wyo-
ming and Shag Campbell of
Dungannon placed third. In
Lucknow on Saturday, Sep-
tember 20 the chains saw
competition was won by
Cam Alton cutting a 10"X10"
soft maple with a time of
15.08 seconds and Shag
Campbell took second place
with a time of 16.1 seconds
in the pouring rain.
In the cross cut competi-
tion, cutting an 8"X8" log,
Jim Sloan and Bob Gil-
christ, with a time of 12.2
seconds cut out. Shag
yelled out "disqualified"
but they were allowed to
make another cut. Jason
and Shag, with a time of 22
seconds, placed second.
Sloan and Gilchrist turned
their winnings back to the
fair board.
On Saturday, September 20,
Ron Brindley traded his red
'57 Chrysler for a '31 maroon
coloured Ford pickup.
Loads of logs are starting
to arrive. Chain saws are
buzzing and log splitters
are thumping as people
start to prepare for winter
including Jennie Alton and
Trevor Cook.
