The game, played in Rip- ley, got off to a rocky start for the Lancers with the Wolves taking an early lead only 10 seconds into the game. Having the first game jitters out of the way, the Lancers fought back and evened the score with 5 minutes left in the period with rookie Jamie Miller opening the scoring for the Lancers. Carrying their momen- tum into the second period, the Lancers took their first lead of the game with veteran Janis Ireland scoring less than a minute into the period. The game continued as a back and forth battle seeing both teams trade multiple goals, Lucknow's goals coming from veteran Matt McClinchey and wily veteran Ean Moffat, but the period would end with Wolves getting a goal with 1 second remaining to give Ripley a 5-4 lead. The third period followed the pace of the second with both teams trading goals, Janis Ire- land scoring his second off the game for the Lancers. As the period neared the halfway point, the Wolves would score once again to take a 7-5 lead and seal the game handing Lucknow their first loss of the season.
