We sang "When Mothers of Salem': Joyce Adamson read "Full Circle of Life", reflecting on becoming best friends with one's mother. Gertie read a poem about all the different shades of green we notice in the new growth of spring. We sang "For the Beauty of the Earth': Gertie gave a cute reading com- paring us to when cars get old and need new parts. She closed with a prayer that gives thanks for family. Twelve members answered roll call with a gardening tip and/or telling what is their favourite flower. Helen Cleland read from the Least Coin newsletter celebrating moth- ers, the God-given ability to be a mother, and considered many dif- ferent conditions of being a mother around the world. We pray for all mothers and the lives they lead. Shirley Bolt gave the treasurer's report and we handed in our bake - less bake sale envelopes. We send good wishes to Edna Alton since replacing her other knee last month. UCW General Meeting is May 27 and our group's next meet- ing is June 3rd at 1:30 at the Church.
