Spring seems to be avoiding
Lucknow area
Lucknow News

I keep going on about the 'wonderful
spring weather' we're having, but, I am
Canadian, and what else can I complain
about that everyone in this country
understands.
If anyone out there knows when
spring will actually be here, please let
me know.
Now that we are well into the Lenten
season, I notice that many churches in
the area are getting ready to celebrate
Easter with special services. St. Peter's
Anglican (among others in the area)
celebrated Shrove Tuesday with a pan-
cake supper and Ash Wednesday with a
service at our fellow parish church in
Wingham. Coming soon will be Maundy
Thursday and Good Friday and of
course Easter Sunday. Look for a church
near you to attend these special
services.
It's good to see that our own Julie -
Anne Staehli is doing so well at Queen's
University and we all hope her trip to

Uganda will bring her further acco-
lades. By the time this goes to print her
race will be over and perhaps she'll
have even more medals to her credit.
If anyone wants a good laugh, drop
by the Lucknow Bowling Alley tonight
to watch me and a few of my fellow
Sepoy Ranees make fools of ourselves.
Well, I'll be making a fool of myself,
some of our group are quite good bowl-
ers, but I only do this every few years
and I can't bowl worth beans.
Speaking of the Sepoy Ranees, our lit-
tle group will be welcoming a number
of Red Hatters from near and far to Luc -
know on April 9 for a Queen's luncheon
to be held at St. Peter's parish hall. If
you see some ladies wearing lovely red
hats around town that day, say hi and
give them a friendly Lucknow smile.
