Lucknow's 6th annual Music in the

Gord Bamford headline the Aug.
22-23 country music event, with
seven other major acts and local

with a total of nine major acts, along
with numerous other local and
regional bands to perform as well.
"So much work goes on behind the
scenes for this event that nobody
knows about," said co-chair Rick
McMurray. "This year's lineup is over
the top. We focused on new country
artists, with music all on the top 20
charts:'

Saturday night Dierks Bentley
headlines the event, along with The
Road Hammers, Tim Hicks, Brett
Kissel, Lindsay Ell and The River
Junction Band.
McMurray said they were told it
would take five years to get the event
into full swing, and it's exactly what it
took. He said they've worked
carefully with their producers over
the years, so as not to overspend
on bands and build the event
sustainably.
Partnering with local media, as
well as radio stations in the London
area, focusing on social media adver-
tising over Facebook, Twitter and
Youtube, Music in the Fields has con-
tinuously built a following for its rep-
utation of hosting a top-notch music
festival event.
Upwards of 6,000 tickets will be
available for the two-day event, with
a camp city of 1,000 sites around
the soccer field grounds
being professionally measured with
a Global Positioning System (GPS),
to ensure the 25 -by -40 -foot camp-
sites are accurate to safely fit in the
crowds.
"Normally we did it by hand, but
this will help a lot," said co-chair Rick
McMurray.
This year additional parking will
be located at both the Lucknow
Community Centre and arena,
