Black Horse Ladies: The ladies opening
was held on Mothers day with 14 ladies
enjoying a lovely brunch. All the ladies
received a gift certificate & a potted plant
compliments of Smelzer Garden Centre, a
Mary Kay gift certificate from Cheryl Neu-
man, a bag of tees from Helen Haldenby,
and a handmade coaster from Tern Minnie.
Business was discussed & committees set
up for the coming season. All ladies are
welcome to join us on Wednesday at
5:00PM for a good fun & fellowship time.
Sally Parks and Pauline Pegg were the win-
ners of our share the wealth draw. Many of
the ladies did brave going out on the very
wet course.
The ladies had a great day for golf on May
28th. The prizes went to the high and low
putts and the wirmers were Ruth Price and
Rosalie Zettler with only 14 putts. Mark June
1 lth on your calendar for our first Black
Horse Ladies Fling which will be a 2 person
best ball. You may sign up at the club house.
Black Horse Mixed Seniors: The mixed
seniors started on Monday May 12th with a
very good turn out. Tied for 1st was Marj
Heimpel and Jackie Harvey with a net 68.
Tied for 3rd with a net 70 was Dave Evans
and Doug Turner. TheYoYo forgot to put out
the closest to the pin so a draw was made &
the winners were Joyce Turner and Bruce
Heimpel.
On May 19th the mixed seniors played a
Stableford system with Doug Turner and
Carolyn Kelly tying for 1st with 44 points.
3rd place went to Joyce Turner with 42
points. Christa DeGuzman and Tom Pegg
tied for 4th with 41 points. Closest to the pin
for the ladies was Carolyn Kelly and Dave
Cooper was the closest for the men.
The mixed seniors played Stableford sys-
tem on a beautiful Mon May 26th on a
much drier course.Winning 1st place was
Mali Heimpel with 44 points and a 4 way tie
for 2nd were Joyce Turner, Brenda Jones,
Pauline Pegg and Elenor Roppel with 43
points. You do notice that no men were in
that list but Walter Arnold did win closest to
the pin with no lady reaching the green.
Black Horse Senior Men:
The Senior men played a Stroke play
event on May 22 in the misty rain, cold &
wind & some golfer turned in very good
scores. lst place was Walter Arnold with a
net 66, 2nd place went to Bruce Heimpel
with a net 68Tied for 3rd with net scores of
70 were Larrry Gerson and Dave Bednarz.
5th place went to the man who played in
SHORTS, Tom Pegg with a net 71.
