WMS holds
annual meeting
Missionaries R' Us was the theme
for the Women's Missionary Society
annual meeting held Monday, Jan. 20
at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Wingham.
Kathy Armstrong, president, consti-
tuted the meeting. The WMS mission
purpose was recited. Rev. Bernie Skel-
ding gave greetings with reference to
greetings from the Bible.
Our very special guests were Kathy
and Tim Whatly. Tim is executive
director of New Tribes Mission in Dur-
ham. Tim and Kathy Whatly and their
three children lived among the Moi
People (a tribe in Indonesia that lived
in fear of evil spirits). Kathy and Tim
learned the Moi language and trans-
lated the Bible into the tribal language
so they could share the love of Christ.
They taught the tribe to read and write
in their own language so they could
share the good news among their
tribe. The Moi people have shared
with other tribes who want to know
more about their changed lives.
A delicious lunch was served by the
St. Andrew's Church Women's
Auxiliary.
The business portion of the meeting
followed. The new executive for 2014
was installed. An invitation to the
Spring Rally to be held May 12 was
extended from the South Kinloss
WMS. To celebrate the 100th anniver-
sary of WMS there will be a dinner
meeting with the theme Celebrating
the Past.
