The new LED Street Lights were recently installed throughout Huron -Kinloss
Township. These lights will give a brighter light that is more directional as it is
aimed downward, while being much more cost efficient over the long term. Here

Watch for Cons and
Scams over the Holidays
) South Bruce OPP
The South Bruce Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) is asking residents to be on
the lookout for cons and scams following
a report from the Township of Huron -
Kinloss at noon on December 2, 2014. A
call was received from "Master card secu-
rity" to advise the card holder of an issue.
Master card is a legitimate company, but
scammers will commonly use the name
of a real company to gain your trust.
Pay close attention to any unsolicited
contact - unsolicited means that you
didn't ask for it. Whether it's a knock on
Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Thankyou just doesn't seem to be enough
to say to the individuals, businesses, schools
and groups who supported the Huron
County Christmas Bureau. The support
shown at the bureaus in Wmgham, Seaforth,
Clinton, Exeter and Goderich was incredible.
We are so grateful for the generosity of the
people in Huron County in helping to make
a difference in a child's Christmas.
Thank you also to the parents and
caregivers who register to make Christ-
mas special for their child or children.
I would also like to thank our sponsors
the door, phone call, letter, fax or email
- always verify the contact is legitimate
before you send money or provide any
personal information. This is an espe-
cially important time of year to be vigi-
lant; at a hectic time of year when we're
scrambling to make holiday prepara-
tions; we may more vulnerable to the
smooth talking con artist that wants to
trick you into giving up your hard
earned money. Remember; it's your
money, you work hard to earn it so
work hard to protect it.

tion on fraud can contact the Canadian

sports. Without your contributions we
would not be nearly as successful.
Lastly, I thank all the 400 plus volunteers
who contributed over 4000 hours to organ-
ize and implement the Huron County
Christmas Bureau. It is because of your
untiring efforts that we assisted almost 500
families and more than 1000 children.
Thank you for experiencing the joy of
giving and receiving.
Merry Christmas

Needs Your Input
Calling Employers
in Bruce, Grey,
Huron and Perth
Counties
The EmployerOne Survey
will provide employers an
opportunity to share their
workforce needs directly with
stakeholders who provide
solutions.
The Four County Labour
Market Planning Board
(FCLMPB) wants to hear from
local employers. The Employ-
erOne survey is seeking relia-
ble local labour market infor-
mation from employers, while
respecting the employer's
confidentiality and limited
time. The survey is designed
to gain an understanding of
the demand-side in our area's
labour market.
The once a year survey will
provide much needed data to
assist with economic and
workforce development in
the region. It is an opportu-
nity for community partners,
such as Employment Ontario
Service Providers and educa-
tors, to coordinate a single
outreach to employers rather
than conduct multiple
surveys.
"We want to continue using
your input as the basis for our
answer to workforce challenges,"
said Gemma Mendez Smith,
FCLMPB executive director.
"Response to our Skills Gap
Study has formed the founda-
tion for many initiatives in the
community, and we want to
keep building on that
foundation:"
Completing the survey pro-
vides employers with a voice to
communicate the current
occupational, training and
skills needs in their business,
and gives them their say in
how we train and equip their
future workforce. The success
of the survey will be deter-
mined by the involvement of
local employers as they are the
ones to benefit from
