Publicity Chair, Blyth Festival Singers
September is coming up fast!
For some that means back to
school time. But for the Blyth
Festival Singers it's a callback to
rehearsals for an exciting
upcoming season!
With the choir you get that
same back to school feeling:
seeing friends again, preparing
to learn new things, getting new
music likewe used to get new
books. In fact, choir is way bet-
ter than the first day ofschool.
It's like having the best class of
the day all the time - Music!
And there are other perks! You
don't have to ride the school
bus but instead get to drive with
your car pool buddies. There are
no tests, no pass or fail - we all
sing for our own pleasure and
learning at choir. We always get
gold stars of achievement - from
our very appreciative audiences.
And no one has to eat soggy
sandwiches. We have awesome
social nights once a month with
the most delicious homemade
goodies.
Whatever your reason - we
welcome and invite you to join
the Singers for the exciting
2014-2105 season. It includes a
go at the Messiah and other
Christmas music for December,
a musical tribute to the war
years in the spring, and a
showcase of up-and-coming
young musical talent at our May
Cabaret.
Singing is good for the body
and the soul, so treat yourself
and join us, and be sure to invite
your friends as well. We wel-
come singers of all abilities and
ages. Registration fees for high
school students are half price
and newcomers can give the
choir a three week trial. Choir -
registration and our first prac-
tice is on Wednesday, Septem-
ber 3 in the June
Hill Room, on the upper floor
of the Blyth Festival administra-
tion offices.
Registration starts at 7 p.m.
with rehearsal from 7:30 - 9:30
pm. And if you have a Messiah
score, dig it out, dust it off and
bring it along!
