She was born in Manchester, England on May 21, 1915 to the late Elizabeth (Umbleton) and John Bacon. Survived by friends Joyce & Susan Attard of Langley, B.C. and John & Brenda Kranenburg & family, of Lucknow and nephew Sydney (Rita) Burgess of Lancashire, England. Predeceased by Dorothy Miller, a good friend and roommate for many years at Pinecrest Manor. Following Edith's request, cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow in the spring. Donations to the Pinecrest Residents Council are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Dear husband of Beth (Dowling) for 55 years. Bob was born in Wingham on March 11, 1938 to the late Verna (Gaunt) and Archie Aitchison. He was the dear father of Brad & Tracey of Lucknow, Barb & Todd Struthers of Holyrood and Bev & Mike Lewis of Georgetown. Missed by his grandchildren Nash (Julia) of London, Riley of Lucknow, Lacey (Mike) of Auburn, Lindsay (Ray) of Toronto, Landon of Holyrood, Amy, and Ally of Georgetown. Survived by his sister Jean (George) Errington. Predeceased by his granddaughter Laura, his brothers Jim and John, and his sisters Peg Purdon, Marie Button, and Dawna Morgan. Visitation was held on March 26th, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00 PM, at MacKENZIE & McCREATH FUNERAL HOME, Lucknow, where the Funeral Service was conducted on March 27th, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Lynne Wilson officiated and Marilyn Scott was the organist. Spring Interment in Greenhill Cemetery. Predeceased by her brother Burton (Katherine) Collins and her sister Helen (Jerome) Schmidt and brother-in-law Douglas Campbell. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
