Mclvor and Mies McIver, of St Thomas, are visiting with relatives and friends in Wingham. Mr. and Mrs, Jas. Showers were visiting for a few days with the Mrs. at Showers'sister, Goderich. 1 -Burke's Falls, an incorporated vil- lage in the Parry Sound district was ewopt by fire on Sunday and a large portion of the business section was des- ,troyed. The loss is placed at $150,000 with insurance of $70,000. -Mr. W. J. McGregor has sold the Lucknow Sentinel to J. L. Naylor of Essex. Mr. McGregor greatly improved the Sentinel during the short time be was in charge, and is retiring from the business owing to ill-health. -The Baptist garden party on Tues- dAy evening was a sucess, notwith- standing the heavy rain.
