LOWER WINGRAi1r,
A false and silly report has gained
some currency here to the offeot that
our local provincial minion of the law
was rather averse to the prairie being
used for picnic parties, We are at a
loss to know how such a report could be
entertained for a moment, and are pleas-
ed to be able to state that it has no
foundation in fact. On the contrary,
we are glad to extend the "freedom of
the prairie" to the citizens of upper
town, or any other town, when they
want a pleasant outing.

school in this village as follows :—Dnr-

formed at Belgrave and Centralia and a
substantial Sohool house erected in each
village. There is a large attendance at
each of these schools. The Belgrave
school house is first class in every re-
spect, the °lase room being the best
lighted and ventilated in this inspector-
ate. School boards that contemplate
building a new school or remodelling
the old one should visit the Belgrave
school.

How To Improve Health.
No better" way than to improve the
blood,—cleanse and enrioh it,—give it
nourishment and strength. This can
be quickly done by Dr. Hamilton's Ptila
which have a vitalizing, purifying effect
that is unequalled in any ether medi-
cine. With lots of pure rich blood cir-
cnlating to all parts of the body, with
enap and vim running through every
vein and artery, robust heath is iu-
evitable. No cleansing bulldog tonic
is as good. as Dr. Hamilton's Pills. Siad
by all dealers.
Do Yon Botch Gas?
This is a disagreeable result of food
fermentation- that Nerviline stops at
once. Take ten drops of Nerviline in
sweetened water. The stomach is
warmed and soothed, digestive troubles
corrected, the rising of gas °eases and
you are well. When such a simple
remedy does so much it's .foolish to be
without it. For indigestion, sour stom-
ach, heartburn and sick headache you'll
find nothing half so efficient as Poison's
Nerviline. Get a 25c. bottle from your
dealer to -day.•

Between 11 and 12 o'clock Tuesday
night of last week, the fire bell was
rung, the cause being a fire in the -rear
outer wall of W. Oakley's shoe shop.
The door was burst in and by active
effort inside and out the blaze was put
out. Several panes of glass were brok-
en and a portion of the sheeting torn off
in getting at the fire. It was evidently
of an incendiary character as coal oil
had been used to more readily assist in
the proposed burning.

A young man named Edward Mc-
Mahon died at the county jail Thurs-
day, Jane 4th. He had been in this
country only seven months and had
been working in the township of Wa-

and having no money, he applied to
Wm. Bailie, J. P., who on the young
man's own request, committed him to
jail as a vagrant, not being able to
send him to the house of refage, as he
had not been a resident of this county
long enough to secure admission. An
inquest was opened at the jail bud com-
pleted the following morning before
