within the next few weeks it is now in
order for the Liberals of the north and
centre ridings to bestir. themselves, and
see that oandidatea are placed in tate
field.
HURON IS GERRYMANDERED
•
r.
The : Redistribution Committee has
press•turd its report to the 0 JarioLegis-
lature and the only change in the ridings
-ef Huron county from that reported in
;fbe Tries two wa.e'r$ ago is that the
,Township of Tt ekersm1th is transferred.
`,from the centre to the south riling
This change does not better the oon•
;ditime from the Liberal Standpoint
The north riding, of which. Winghem
farms a part, w 1', king the figtras of
- the last P.ovicoial election, give a Con-
$3rvativ@ majority of 207. The centre
riding 4}2 Liberal m .jority and the
south 504 Conservative. Heron
county is the only one in the Province
• that has 'been seriously meddled with
and we tntght very welt have been lett
alone toettl after the neat canons. The
Liberal' Members of the committee pree•

South riding-Stenley, Tackeramith,

North riding -Best and West Wawa-'
mash, Morris, Grey. Howtck, Tarnberry
townships, Winghsm, Brussels, Wrox-

Tbia division, using the figures of the
last eleotion would give a Liberal me-
jority of of 57 in the north, Liberal
majority 43 in the centre and 219
Consersative in the south. This divi-
sion won d have given bath parties a
fighticg chance, bot oar Conservative
friends wanted a sure thing. We heart-
ily agree with friend Kerr, of the Bra -
Eels Post when he said last weeh:--
'RThia lorrym3nder may prove a mill
rannd;the neck of the promoters. It
proves tbe.fallaey of the law permitting
such changes to ,be made by any one
party A commission of Judges should
do thus work and thereby Ripe out the
pronounced partisanship of any such
possibilities arising from the greed of
Marty ,politielans. "
With the north riding laid out as it is
now, Wi ;ghsm will be the only town in
the riding and will be the centre, and I t;aolce .... -

World's Wine Production.
Nearly four thousand million gallons
of wine was produced throughout the
world last year. France leads the
world with nearly fifteen hundred gal-
loons, closely followed by Italy with
1,157,200,000. Spain comes next, fol-
lowed by Algeria and Portugal. Russia's
production -the enormous quantity of
57,000,000 -comes as a sureties; even to
experts, and the United States contri-
butes 35,200,000 gallons. Another sur

steady et yesterday's advanoee. There
was a good supply of over 1,400 head of
cattle, but the demand wasstill active,
and everything was pretty well cleaned
out at good prides. The &vera¢e quality
was said to be not. quite np to ',ester•
day's, but there were some exceptionally
doe quality among. to day's offering.
For fanny show cattle for Easter there
ware a few equally fancy prices, these
including cattle which mold et $6.00',
and one very extra prize two-year-old
steer, weighing 1,610 pounds, which
sold at $7 00. These, however have
nothing to do with the general run of
prices Be quoted on to•day's market.
To -day's run was 80 cos'. and includ-
