Explosion
on Hullett-
Mckillop Rd.
Shaun Gregory
Huron Expositor
The Huron East Fire
Department was dispatched
to Hullett- Mckillop Rd. for a
kitchen fire that resulted
in an explosion on
September 15.
"One of the criteria that we
have to call the Ontario Fire
Marshal is for an explosion
and there was a small one,"
said fire chief and commu-
nity emergency management
coordinator, Marty Bedard.
The blaze took approxi-
mately 25 minutes to extin-
guish. An official estimate of
damage has not been speci-
fied yet, but the fire officials
said from what they've
viewed, including the kitchen
and the smoke throughout
the house, the damages are in
the "high end."
Bedard said this is the first
structure fire in quite some
time. Currently the blaze is
under investigation to how the
fire started. More details will be
mentioned at a later time.
