To work under the general direction of the Administration to install, maintain, trouble -shoot and repair board -owned computer
equipment peripherals, soundfield systems, smart boards, iPads designated for student, staff and administrative use, and all
hardware related to network infrastructure.

Temporary Computer Hardware Technician
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Providing advice and supportto site contacts in response to identified difficulties via email and in person; investigating, determining
cause and resolving hardware technical problems. Consulting user guides, technical manuals and other sources as required in order to
research and implement solutions.
Investigating, researching, sourcing appropriate hardware according to prescribed guidelines.
Service and repair of equipment; communicating with suppliers regarding warranty coverage and negotiating returns under warranty;
preparing equipment for shipping.
Installing new equipment and related peripheral equipment and software which may include moving and reconfiguring existing equip
ment, creating and installing images, etc.
Assisting with shipping and receiving of equipment Maintaining inventory (asset management database) records, accurate service
records, and perform charge -backs.
Designing classroom lab layouts in consultation with supervisor, contractors, electricians and administrative and school staff which may
include reading blueprints and schematics, running wires, mounting patch panels, wiring computer outlets, etc
Recommending, implementing and administering security standards and procedures.
Training site administrators in limited hardware troubleshooting.
Job Specifications and Requirements:
Completion of two year community college computer technical training program plus up to one year related experience or combination of
experience, education and training that is considered equivalent. A+ certification is required, ora willingness to obtain it, is required.
Proven working knowledge of PC based hardware, peripherals, related software and operating systems.
Travel as required to any site within the system — must have reliable transportation.
Lifting and transferring equipment up to 50 pounds from time to time.
Ability to problem -solve, prioritize and multi -task in a busy environment
Proven professional, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and a high degree of confidentiality.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
