• An advertisement appearing in
the Huron Expositor for the lat-
est wonder medicine: Women
and Mice - The reason why a
woman is afraid of a mouse is a
profound mystery - indeed it
has never been clearly proven
that she is. But some women
are constantly in such a nerv-
ous, irritable condition that the
slightest thing annoys and star-
tles them. The cause of this
unfortunate state of affairs is
usually some functional
derangement: some distressing
irregularity; some derangement
or peculiar weakness incident
to her gender. From whichever
cause it may arise, Dr. Pierce's
Favourite Prescription is a Posi-
tive Remedy. As a soothing and
strengthening nervine, Favour-
ite Perscription subdues nerv-
ous excitability, irritability,
exhaustion, prostration, hyste-
ria, spasms and other nervous
symptoms attendant upon dis-
ease of the womb. It induces
refreshing sleep and relieves
anxiety and despondency. Dr.
