Back in the 70's and early 80's, this was a feat many thought was one an impossi- ble undertaking. Even though Driscoll has never hoisted the cup as a hockey champion like Howe or Jagr, he's sure skated on the same ice, ref- ereeing those crucial standoffs that molded young stars into Cup leg- ends. Jagr collected his sec- ond back-to-back champi- onship with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992 and a year later, the former Sea - forth Centenaire was appearing in his first lines- man gig. Dressed in a black and white stripped long - sleeve and helmet, this is what is regarded as his rookie -year. Now, 25 years later and he's still an offi- cial for one of the best hockey leagues in the world. Driscoll's participa- tion in his 1500th game was last Saturday (Novem- ber 14th) at the First Nia- gara Center. The Buffalo Sabres hosted the San Jose Sharks. Several outlets in the realm of social media noticed the decades of his referee involvement after the game.
