She says every person should exercise for an hour at least three times a week to maintain physical health. Corbett encourages local seniors seeking an avenue to remain active to enrol in her free, twice weekly exercise class hosted at the Seaforth Agriplex. "It varies, but the most we had this past week was 21 people," Cor- bett said of the number of attendees to the class which runs on Tuesdays and Fridays between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The program, organized by regional not-for-profit supportive care group One Care, has made slow but steady strides in boosting turn- out since its debut nine years ago, Corbett said, noting that the exercise class was initially attracting as few as two to three participants. Still, she said having only 21 people show up in a community the size of Seaforth highlights the challenges facing health promotion initiatives. "It's not a very good turnout, but at the same time the room can't handle a 100 people - it's just the Agriplex," Corbett told the Expositor. "21 is a nice number but it's been a long time getting up to the number." As well, she noted that the Seaforth exercise program has a price that can- not be beat. "The cost is right, it's free," Corbett said. One Care Home and Community Support Services touts itself on its website as a community based, chari- table, not-for-profit health organiza- tion providing supportive care to fam- ilies in Huron and Perth Counties and surrounding area. The agency was formed in 2011 when three long-standing Huron and Perth organizations came together as One Care.
