Raised garden beds to be available at the community gardens this year thanks to the Seaforth Food Bank.
Raised garden beds to be offered in Seaforth
Seaforth Food Bank
The Seaforth & Dis-
trict Food Bank is happy to
announce that raised garden
beds will be available this
year at our community gar-
dens which is located on the
west side of the Sea -
forth Arena. These plots are
being offered free of charge
to seniors and this with
mobility issues. We have 5
raised beds which are 4'x 12'
and you can take all or half a
plot to grow and maintain

our seniors to enjoy the
fruits of their labour with rel-
ative ease. Five new rain
barrels will arrive in the next
few days and we hope to
have a more efficient water-
ing system in place in the
near future. If you would
like to reserve a raised bed or
a regular garden plot please

the late Edward Bennewies of
Slabtown, and Walter and Heidi
Elliker of Zurich, Switzerland.

We would like to thank our parents,

Robyn Doig advances to
USGA Women's Public
Links Championship

Seaforth Golf Club's
Robyn Doig, advanced to the
United States Golf Associa-
tion's Women's Public Links
Championship after making
a birdie on the first play-off
at Eagle Creek Golf Club in
Norwalk, Ohio, yesterday.
Doig, 22 is a senior at Uni-
versity of Central Florida in
Orlando where she is a
member of the Golden
Knights Women's Golf Team.
With three players eligible
to advance to the champion-
ship scheduled for mid-July
at The Home Club in Seattle,
Washington, Doig's one over
72 put her in a tie for third
and resulted in a play off with
American Kaitlin Neumann.
Doig put her wedge to four
feet on the par five and sank
the putt to advance. Robyn's
brother, Paul, a freshman at
Kennesaw State University and
a member of the Owl's Men's
golf team was on the bag.
It was nice to have Paul on
the bag and it was a great feel-
ing to have the swing changes
I've been making stand up
under pressure," said Doig
who is the reigning Ontario
Women's Amateur and Wom-
en's Match Play Champion.
