HomeMy WebLinkAboutHuron Expositor, 2015-05-13, Page 13Liberal candidate opens volunteer centre Huron -Bruce Liberal candidate Allan Thompson was joined by more than 75 supporters Saturday at the grand opening of the first Allan Thompson Campaign Volunteer Centre, in down- town Kincardine. Thompson said he was excited to be opening a vol- unteer centre in Kincar- dine, the town where he was born and home to many close relatives. He also noted that this is just the first such volunteer centre and that another is expected soon in Huron County. The volunteer cen- tres will be the hub of cam- paign activity and a place where volunteers can sign up and get training. In brief remarks before cutting the ribbon, Thomp- son told volunteers that the campaign to defeat the Ste- phen Harper government is a fight worth joining. "I think it's time for us to start talking again about a just society, about what kind of Canada we want and what kind of person we want leading our country," Thompson said.
