At approximately 12:20 a.m., Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program traffic stop at Morrison Line and Crediton Road when they saw a GMC Sierra pickup truck approach the intersection. As the vehicle got closer to the checkpoint, the driver abruptly stopped and turned into a nearby laneway. This caught the officer's attention and prompted him to evaluate the driver. The investigating officer then spoke with the driver and was able to identify him as a person who had a warrant out for his arrest. The driver was then arrested at the scene. Further investigation revealed the driver had previous stip- ulations from past driving convictions. He also was in possession of a suspended driver's license. In addition, the attached license plates were not authorized to the pickup truck. After search- ing the vehicle the police found an open bottle of liquor. Michael Chapman, 45, from Goderiich, is facing multiple offences. The charges are failure to comply with recog- nizance, two counts of driv- ing while disqualified, five counts of driving while under suspension, having care and control of a motor vehicle with open container of liq- uor and use of a license plate not authorized for a vehicle. Man arrested for over 10 sexual offenses (MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ONT.) - The Perth County OPP laid charges July 8, in relation to numerous sex related crimes that are alleged to have occurred in Listowel from 2012-2015. The offences involve female victims. John Paul Stone, 53, from North Perth, faces two counts of sex- ual assault and sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age. He is also charged with two counts of sexual interference with a person under 16 years old, two counts of luring a person under the age of 18 by means of telecommunication and lur- ing a person under 16 years old by means of telecommunica- tion. The investigation further- more led to charges of indecent exposure to a person under the age of 16 and invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age. An unrelated offence of a con- trolled drugs and substances act with the following offences will also be added to the list of charges against Stone for traffic in schedule 1 sub- stance of methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth. If anyone has further informa- tion about this or any other inci- dents, they are asked to con- tact Perth County OPP's Crimi- nal Investigation Unit at 519- 291-1414 or 519-393-6123. ea orthhuronex 1 ositor.co Hit the links to help seniors to live at home ONE CARE Home and Community Support Ser- vices is set to host its annual fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, August 8 at Woodlands Links in Clinton starting at 10 a.m. The tournament includes 18 holes or nine holes of golf, and the fee includes a cart, a full chicken dinner and excellent prizes for everyone.
