Obituaries In Memoriam 1 Thanks Births Celebrations I More Obituaries Obituaries DEVEREAUX, Jim - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Devereaux at Clinton Public Hospital on Sunday, June 28, 2015. Born in Tuckersmith Township on April 26, 1923, James Harold Devereaux of Seaforth, formerly of Goderich, was in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Ethel (nee Wilson) Devereaux and the late Anne (Wild) Devereaux. Loving father of Neil (Nancy) Devereaux of Kitchener, Nancy (Barry) Martinelli of London, Danny (Sylvie) Devereaux of Scarborough, Mary (Kevin) Bennett of Harpurhey, John (Joyce) Devereaux of Seaforth and Margaret Ann (Calvin) Lovett of Barrie. Also lovingly remembered by stepchildren Rosemary (Gerry) Corriveau Landriault, Barb Desjardins (Bill Hayden), all of Goderich, Joe (Darlene) Wild, Wendy Wild (the late Peter), all of Bayfield, Theresa Wild (Rick Denys) of Kippen and Patrick Wild of Ilderton. Also survived by in-laws Hazel McGonigle, Marian and Doug Andrews, Madeline Bain and Stuart and Joyce Wilson. Cherished Grandpa of 32 and Great -Grandpa of 13. Also missed by his cousins Florence Devereaux of Seaforth, Bill Murphy of Seaforth, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary (nee Murphy) Devereaux, grandson Kyle Martinelli, siblings Bob Devereaux, Frank Devereaux, Mary English and Helen (Sam) Fawkes, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Visitation was held at McGLYNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Thursday, July 2nd from 7-9 p.m. and continued on Friday, July 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers and Knights of Columbus Service were held at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening. Jim's Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James Catholic Church, Seaforth, on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brian McColl officiating. Interment took place at St. James Catholic Cemetery and a reception followed at the Seaforth & District Community Centre. Born in McKillop Township on January 8, 1928, Mary Madeline "Maddie" Murray (nee Sloan) of Seaforth was in her 88th year. Beloved wife of 65 years to Thomas Murray. Loving mother of Joanne Charmet (Philippe) of Toronto, Neil Murray (Glenda) of RR#5 Seaforth, Cathy Landry (Gerard) of Yellowknife, Allan Murray (Mary -Lou) of RR#5 Seaforth, Marilyn Wylie (Dave) of Kitchener, Mark Murray (Joan) of RR#5 Seaforth and Mary Murray (Brian Bertram) of Carbon, AB. Cherished Grandma of 25 and Great -Grandma of one. Dear sister of Mona Gaffney, Florence Brady (Don), and sisters-in-law Eileen, Louise, Anne and Marie Sloan and Grace Murray. Madeline will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Harry Neil McLeod (1971); parents John Forrest and Jessie Emily Elgie; and four siblings. Survived by her children Margaret `Peg' DeJong (Dirk) of Seaforth, Mary 'Bonnie' MacTaggart of Napanee, Heather MacLeod of London, Donald `Joe' McLeod of Bayfield, Jean McLeod of Alaska, Laurence 'Boy' McLeod (Chris Liegandt) of Alberta, Lyda `Chum' McLeod of Barrie and son-in-law Ted Medland of Acton. Also predeceased by sons-in-law Gianni Owen and Peter McTaggart. Mary is loved by her grandchildren Elizabeth, Esther, Jill (Daryn), Max (Tamarah) and Jason (Tay), great-grandchildren Zara, Zoe, Mari, Lachlan and Solomon; and great - great -grandchildren Rhea, Maximus and Mason. Also fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary graduated from Victoria College, U of T in 1939 with a BA majoring in science and Althouse, UWO in 1964. She was a respected Math Teacher. Mary was a life member of the Seaforth & District Horticultural Society and the Huron Tract Spinners & Weavers. She was also a literacy volunteer, avid reader, naturalist, knitter and bread maker.
