U9 Girls On Wednesday June 24, the U9 girls travelled to the Taxandria Falcons pitch. With the sunny sky above and a light wind, it was a great evening for a match. U15 Girls On Monday, June 29, the girls travelled to Lucknow and came out with a win with a score of 5-2. Early in the first half, Luc - know took the lead. This was answered quickly by a goal from Jaymee Nolan. Not long after, with a beauty cross pass from Jaymee, Madie McKellar put one past their keeper. Claire Horan scored again later on in the first half, as well. Lucknow scored to start the second half, but then Claire Horan scored again, after picking up a beauty throw in from Natasha Klaver. Huron County OPP officers are investigating the incident that occurred at the farm located on Krauter Line. Sometime between 12:00 p.m. on June 28 and 9:00 a.m. on June 29, those responsible entered into the barn through an insecure back door. Once inside the barn the thieves managed to load up the pigs and subse- quently drive away with them. At the time of the theft, the pigs were all about 25 to 30 pounds in weight. The total value of the stolen pigs is esti- mated to be around $3,000. Any person with information regarding this incident should contact Huron OPP at 1-888- 310-1122 or (519) 524-8314. Police investing racist and homophobic graffiti in Goderich GODERICH - Huron County OPP are investigating graf- fiti that took place overnight in Goderich, including a swastika, homophobic and racist slurs. Police were notified of the damage early on June 30 after an employee noticed the graffiti on his way to work. Three buildings in the southeast area of Goderich were vandalized. • A northeast exterior wall of the Goderich-Huron YMCA • The rear exterior wall of Sleep Matters on Suncoast Drive • A small storage shed located at the Windsor Salt prop- erty located on Huron Road Police said the message sprayed were primarily racial and homophobic slurs. A swas- tika symbol and "unflatter- ing" message for police were also sprayed onto the walls. A combination of brown, black and pink spray paint was used. In a media release, police officials said, "graffiti is any writing, sym- bol or drawing that is applied to any surface without the property owner's consent. When a person applies graffiti they are commit- ting mischief, which can carry a jail sentence upon conviction. Man nabbed with pot BLUEWATER - Huron County OPP have charged a 31 -year- old male driver from Dut- ton following an early morn- ing traffic stop on June 30. Just before 2:00 a.m. an officer stopped the driver of a Ford Focus on Bayfield Main Street North near Catherine Street East. According to police, while speak- ing with the driver the officer discovered a small quantity of marijuana inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the officer locating an additional quantity of marihuana. He has been charged with possession of marijuana. He has since been released from custody with an upcoming court appearance to be made later this summer at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich. Misplaced oxygen tank and carry bag leads to theft SOUTH HURON — Somewhere is walking around with prop- erty that belongs to the county's emergency services department. Paramedics from Huron County EMS attended to a call for assis- tance at a Carling Street residence located in Exeter around 1:00 a.m. Upon loading and transferring the patient to hospital the crew noticed they had left behind an oxygen tank and carry bag. According to police, the para- medics retumed within the hour and checked around the park- ing lot area where the bag was last seen however the tank and bag were missing. The area was searched extensively how- ever the tank has not surfaced. The oxygen tank has a regu- lator connected to the tank and it is housed in an aqua - coloured padded carry bag. The tank is labelled with a County of Huron sticker. The value of the carry bag and oxy- gen tank is approximately $500.
