16 Huron Expositor • Wednesday, January 28, 2015 What's happening in Winthrop Ruth Campbell Winthrop correspondent Here we are at the end of January - where does the time go? We have enough snow to keep the winter sports enthusiasts happy. At Cavan Church on Sun- day the Christ candle was lit by Betty Glanville. The chil- dren's story was about a happy dog and a frowning dog in a mirror. Are we friendly or not? The choir sang "In the Still of the Winter." Minister Mary Fletcher's message was titled "Listening for God's Voice.' Many great ideas have come when we are about to fall asleep. Samuel was chosen to be the next prophet after Eli. Solomon asks God to help him be a good King. Several persons, some recent, have heard and accepted the call to serve a Christian Godly life. Cavan's annual meeting will be held on Feb. 8 after the 11 a.m. service and lunch. Food for Thought The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.
