12 Huron Expositor • Wednesday, January 7, 2015 A joyful Christmas season for many in Winthrop Ruth Campbell Winthrop correspondent Another year is upon us - where do they go? So far we can't complain about the weather. At Cavan United Church for the last Sunday of the year the Christ candle was lit by the minister Mary Fletcher. The children's story was about "Christmas Love." The choir sang, "Who Sweeps the Stable when Christmas is Over:' The message was titled "Journeys." Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem and then to Egypt and then later to Nazareth. After several days of travel the Magi also travelled to see the newbom baby. Camels travel about 16 miles per day. The 4th wise man had found an ill man and helped him recover. Two new elders will be cho- sen in January as Brenda Dal- ton and Calvin Food have completed their term. Coffee hour will be starting at the church on Thursday, January 8 and continue to the end of March. Everyone welcome Carol and Francis Hunt were the greeters and collectors. Our family Christmas get- together was held at the home of Diane and Jeff How- son and family. Food for Thought Life closes in the twilight but opens in the dawn. The foyer, with stairs to the basement on the right and a coat closet to the left, leads directly through an archway into the great room. A built-in fireplace will make the open- plan great room/dining room/kitchen especially welcoming during cooler months, while sliding doors to a covered deck, with its adjacent sundeck, will ensure the space is equally appealing during the summer. The roomy kitchen boasts a central prep island, and the G -shaped counter configuration promises to save steps for the cook. A walk-through pantry leads into the laundry room/mud room and from there into the double garage, which features a bay window on one side.
