Retired NHL player and Seforth native Boyd Devereaux
dropped the puck for the ceremonial opening face-
off Friday before the first game at the Doug Perkes
Memorial Tournament. A first-round draft pick in 1996,
Devereaux won the Stanley Cup as a member of the
Detroit Red Wings in 2002. The Perkes tournament
featured the host squad from Seaforth, as well as
teams from St. Marys, Woolwich, Grand Bend and New
Hamburg, amongst others.
