The Huron Women's Shelter, located on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron, in the town of Goderich,
provides emergency shelter to women and their children due to physical sexual, psychological,
emotional and financial abuse. The Agency currently has an opening for the position of:
SEXUAL ASSAULT COUNSELOR/ADVOCATE (Full-time)
A critical position within the organization, this position is accountable for the provision of individual
and group counseling to women who have been sexually assaulted, harassed or exploited at any
stage in their lives and supporting them in the development of self-care and safety plans.
Acting as an advocate, the Sexual Assault Counselor/Advocate will liaise with a variety of
community, social, legal and medical professionals to facilitate access to services. This position
also acts as a resource to the broader community by sitting on a variety of committees and
enhancing community awareness by facilitating training about sexual assault and sexual
harassment.
Candidates should have a post -secondary degree in Social Work, Psychology or a diploma in Social
Services Worker or related knowledge of these disciplines gained through other education/training
resources and work experience. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the
impact, principles and dynamics of trauma and trauma recovery and prior experience providing
individual counseling to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. A valid Ontario driver's
license and regular access to a reliable vehicle is essential.

AZ/DZ DRIVERS
AZ/DZ Driver duties include: Driving our delivery trucks for purpose of
local farm deliveries of granular fertilizer and crop protection products.
Applicants must have a valid AZ or DZ license.
AIRFLOW OPERATORS
Airflow Operator duties include: Operation of Airflows to apply granular
fertilizer and crop protection products on the agricultural land we service.
Positions are 6-12 weeks in duration. Applicants must have strong
customer service and teamwork skills, be able to handle the physical labor
requirements of the job, and be able to work extended hours including
weekends. All positions require a minimum of a full G license.
