This historic event will mark its 100th anniver- sary and the Canadian Ses- quicentennial with a cele- bration of our country's rural mots and down-to-earth life- style. With one of its goals being to connect and involve communities and citizens within Huron County, three traditional IPM projects have been launched that are sure to tweak the interest and imagination of local residents. Sponsored by the Huron Produce Division of Suntas- tic Hothouse Inc., the IPM 2017 Cookbook is a com- prehensive collection of hundreds of the favourite recipes of local cooks and also includes beautiful pho- tographs of Huron scenes captured by Bonnie Sitter and Telfer Wegg. "Take a Tour through Huron County Kitchens" is full of treats for the taste buds and is avisual buffet as well. At just $15, the very special 370 -page cuisine compendium is a great buy. And who wouldn't be pleased to find this 12 -chapter addition to their kitchen under the Christmas tree? To place your order now, contact Allan Carter at 519.522.0399. However, the IPM 2017 cookbookwill eventually be available as well through local retailers during 2016-17. Another significant com- ponent of all International Plowing Matches is the Beautification Contest. With a recent $25,000 dona- tion from Trillium Mutual Insurance Company of Lis- towel, this project got an excellent kick-start to put- ting Huron's best foot for- ward for the 80,000 visitors expected to arrive in the county.
