New rules projected to entice
Motocross participants nation-wide

Walton Raceway is thinking
outside of the box and the long-
time Huron East organization
said this might well be the most
instrumental innovation to date
that they've came up with.
In the past, the acclaimed
Parts Canada TransCan: Cana-
dian Motocross Amateur Grand
National Championship &
Canadian Motocross Grand
National Pro Open, customarily
set a mandatory requirement for
competitors to belong to one
specific association. Those par-
ticular policies have changed
recently for the purpose of pro-
moting the "grass roots" of the
sport of amateur Motocross.
Walton Raceway anticipates this
adjustment will attract more
competitors as well as a larger
draw of spectators to the
tournament.

making it the biggest TransCan
event we've ever hosted and it
corresponds nicely being our
25th anniversary, explained the

co-owner of Walton Raceway,
Mark Perrin.
The event typically welcomes
900-1000 riders and with the
new rules, Perrin expects to lure
an additional 200-300 contest-
ants from "coast to coast."
Already Motocross clubs from
Vancouver Island and Eastern
Canada have contacted him
requesting a spot in the race.
"We want to break barriers
and work with everyone and
anyone," Perrin said. "We want
to make sure that basically there
(are) no restrictions, an example
of other sports (such as) hockey,
no different from a silver stick or
something like that novelty."
The Motocross champion-
ship is set for 2016 from August
17-21, which will include a Fri-
day night concert and a Satur-
day Pit Party, both integral
parts of the overall weekend
activities.
"Now it's open to every club
across Canada, this week long
event will make an impact and
boost the local economy,"
stated Perrin.
May a circle of family, friends & happiness
surround you during this magical season.
We send our holiday wishes to you & your family
with appreciation for your patronage.
