the Clinton Legion Pipe
Band gave the viewers
goosebumps marching
down James St.
As dusk settled, dressed in

ple at the Seaforth Manor
August 13. In straight rows
they trooped down the
street, you could tell this is
something that takes a sig-
nificant amount of time to
perfect.
"Absolutely it is difficult,
playing an instrument is
hard enough as it is, you
don't learn it in months,
you learn it in years," said
pipe major of the Clinton
Legion Pipe Band, Mark
Macleod. "Then you throw
in marching, the com-
mands, watching your rank,
and file. There is a lot more
to it."

role this year as the pipe
major, which is the person
who initially leads the
band.
"I always wanted to learn
how to play the bagpipes,"
Macleod said.
"It's a great feeling and
sense of pride, especially
when you put it on the
street."
Stacey Kamerman, pro-
gram director at the Seaforth
Manor, organized the con-
cert with another colleague.
She said this event is a tradi-
tion and they want to 'keep it
alive."
"Number one, I think it's
good to keep the legions
going, I know they've been
struggling, it benefits them,"
Kamerman said.
"It's just a great way to
keep the community
together."
