Old photograph and two nude slides found in Seaforth home

When renovating an older
home, you never know what
you might come across.
Most hope for money or
gold, but no one thinks they
will find two 1970s nude
photo slides.
Scott Mccarthy from Sea -
forth said he was taking out
a closet from upstairs in his
house and putting insula-
tion in all the walls. He said
after smashing out the
walls to install new ones
the two nude slides were
uncovered, stashed by a
light switch. The colour
images were of a woman
between 20-30 years of age
sitting on a boat in the
water with her top
removed.
Instantly Mccarthy
called his wife and told her
"you have to see this, it's
crazy."
His wife, Sara Mccarthy
said first getting the call five
years ago, her recollection is
what she referred to as
"entertaining."
"There are two of them,
that's the weird thing," said
Sara.
With regards to where the
slides were placed, Mccarthy
said, "maybe someone was
worried about getting caught
with them and hid it when
they were a kid or
something."
Since the couple pur-
chased the house eight
years ago they have been
discovering
several deep-rooted pieces
of history, which they
believe are from the previ-
ous owners.
"We found old hockey
cards and stamps. We looked
them up, they were not
worth anything," said Mcca-
rthy. "At first we were like
'Oh hockey cards, we're rich
now."'
Mccarthy researched the
value of everything and he
said snickering that they are
worth about "three bucks or
something, they are hockey
players that we've never
heard of."
Last year the Mccarthys
moved an antique -looking
mantel in their living room
to do repairs and another
photograph was found, but
this was of a baby. Covered
in dirt and dust, the picture
has the number "71" writ-
ten on the back. This could
possibly mean it was from
the 1970s when it was
developed. However, the
Seaforth couple said they
think it might be from
1950s.
"The picture is the
one thing we saw that
someone might want," said
Mccarthy.
After reading the "do
you know these nurses?"
story, which was pub-
lished in the Expositor
July 15, the two thought it
would be a kind gesture to
attempt to find the iden-
tity of the baby in the
photo. They live at 15 Lou-
isa St. in Seaforth, so if
you recognize the baby in

"Sara's dad has a scanner
for these things so were
actually thinking of print-
ing them up and putting
them somewhere in the
house, hopefully the per-
son that lived here doesn't
see them," said Mccarthy.
This photo of a toddler was
found with many other items in
a house in Seaforth.
