The stars come out for Grand Bend Arts, Eats and Beats studio tour
CONTINUED FROM > PAGE 9
My processes are fairly unique
and have taken me many hours of
trial and tribulation to perfect, and
I am still learning with each new
creation. I think I'm starting to
develop techniques and final prod-
ucts that are recognizable as "Sarah
Chisholm'; which is pretty cool."
She has a great following in Kin-
cardine and admits she has some
wonderful fans who come to every-
one of her shows.
"I also have some long-time fans
from around the world. I think my
presence on social media has gone
a long way towards making a name

for myself. I have work featured in a
few galleries in the Bruce area.
When people see the beautiful
prints in person at galleries and
shows, they are usually very
impressed. And they'll tell their
friends - in a small town, people
talk... and luckily, they are saying
great things about my work."
The 2014 Arts, eats and Beats was
a new experience for Chisholm, "
Firstly because it was "coming
home" and getting to show folks the
person I've become. It was wonder-
ful to see family friends and familiar
faces. I was initially intimidated but
it was a great experience." This year
she has created hundreds more
photographs and paintings. "My
technique and expertise have
evolved quite a bit. I'll have many
framed works and gorgeous prints
to gaze at and purchase, and can-
vases and metal prints as well. Art
lovers can expect something
unique, vibrant, and conversation -
starting." Now with two young
daughters of her own, Chisholm
says her girls don't really need
encouragement to be expressive
through art and culture, "They both
love to create and imagine, make
music, and they really enjoy art of
all types." She says they probably
think, like she did, that everyone's
home looks like an art gallery.
