Friends and teammates Sara Hunking and Abby Bos shared the Most Valuable Player title. Known for their fun loving and dedicated approach to the game, the Bantam Shooters (12-13yearold boys) impressed the League in 2014/2015 with their continued improvements. Working hard and holding off competitors through some tough tournament draws, the coaches congratulated the boys for their perseverance. Trophies were awarded to Luke Parsons for Most Sportsmanlike Player, rookie Patrick O'Rourke for Most Improved Player and Corbin Marshall for Most Valu- able Player Also Provincial Bronze Medalist, the Midget Girls Hit - men (14-15 year old girls) proved that hard work and continuous personal improve- ments produces success. Most Sportsmanlike Player Jenna Plumsteel and Most Valuable Player Elisa Bolinger were MUNICIPALITY OF HURON EAST CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR EXPANSION AND UPGRADING OF THE SEAFORTH SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITY AND OAK STREET PUMPING STATION ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY REPORT ADDENDUM NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE In 2009, the Municipality of Huron East completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify a preferred solution for increasing the capacity of the Seaforth Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to allow continued growth and development within the community. The recommended solution identified in the Environmental Study Report (ESR) was to expand and upgrade the existing STP from 1,900 m3/d to 3,665 m3/d with the construction of two additional treatment trains to accommodate future growth in the Town of Seaforth, and to service the two nearby communities of Egmondville and Harpurhey over a 25 -year planning horizon. Since the completion of the Class EA, the E.D. Smith food processing facility (locally known as the Seaforth Creamery) closed in 2013, affecting the quantity and quality of the raw wastewater received at the Seaforth STP. The Municipality of Huron East is evaluating the impacts of this closure on raw wastewater flows and pollutant loadings, and determining if it is feasible to revise the design capacity of the STP. An addendum to the 2009 ESR will be prepared to document the findings. A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held to present the preliminary findings and receive input from interested stakeholders and the public. The PIC will be held at the following date and location: Date: April 8, 2015 Time: 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Location: Seaforth Community Center 122 Duke Street Seaforth Ontario, NOK I WO The submission of comments is encouraged at any time during the Class EA Addendum process. The League attracts players from 5 to 19 years of age with Divisions such as Atoms (5-8 years), PeeWees (9-11), Ban- tam (12-13 years), Midget (14- 15 years) and Juvenile (16-19 years). Atoms and PeeWee teams are co-ed, while Ban- tams, Midgets and Juvenilles are co-ed or boy/girl depend- ing on registration. With a season that begins in October and ends in March, teams have practice and home games on Wednesday eve- nings. Specific practice times for each division are available on the League website. Travel to Blyth, Palmerston and Mild- may for regular season away games is typically on Saturday or Sunday. There are no games or practices during the school Christmas vacation period. Registration Fees includes approximately six away games, automatic entry into the November Blyth Tournament and Provincial Champion- ships (not Atoms) held in Feb- ruary in Barrie. Players have the option to participate in two additional tournaments in Mildmay and Palmerston. Equipment needs includes helmet, broomball shoes and stick, padded gloves, knee/shin pads, elbowpads and a jock/jill. Equipment can often be traded or purchased used, while new equipment can be found at Home Hardware Stores inWing- ham and sometimes Exeter. Parents are often happy to hear that the League does not have fundraising fees or mini- mums. While there are a variety of fundraising opportunities, none of them are mandatory. Information about 2015/2016 Registration and fall Promotional Night will be coming soon. This is a fun, healthy win- ter sport that children will be able to play locally well into adulthood.
