This -tavern was first run by. -two Neven brothers. --John and
1.),eter. John moved :to Stratford and died there in 1868, and
Peter died here- in 1872. Peter's widow, the forrnr Ann
Kerinyrawned the hotel till she died in 1993. Part time Peter
Dunn and Jeremiah Flaherty .had it: rented.
The Rauway Hotel Was a- large white frame building an
the corner where the ,Commerce Bank noW stands:- Felix

The Carpenter House, owned by William Carpenter and

by ,fire in the 1890S. Williain„ in the winter of .1882 -When
returning hoille from Seaforth vvasthrown from -his cutter'
