HURON FARM . NEWS -
The rensiling 'of a bumper crop of
torn and fall ,pTlowing are keeping
'most of the farmers busy. There is
a fairly heavy Movement of west-
ern cattle into the. county. 'Feeders
are making use of lush -fall pasture,
to get a,start •on their steers. Dairy
cattle are doing, very well. Attend-
ance at'`fairs •have been above past
few - years. Quality and , numbers
of exhibits have been excellent.,
Fall wheat is -making good growth.

Teen Town was invited to Hensall.
The president from Seaforth invit-

our Parents' Night thisSaturday

Teen Town present because we will
be unable to cope with the crowd.

The annual meeting of the;On-
tario. . Federation" of Agriculture
will` be held in the Royal; York
Hotel, Toronto, November 2, 3 and
4. •One of the interesting, features
of this meeting will be the crown-.
irrg of the • King and Queen.
This' competition is open ,to any
girl or boy whose home is on the -
farm and., is '.between the ages' of
17 -and •26; :.This is not a beauty
contest; but rather a` -test of::knowl-
edge on farm organization and:: of
practical farming: :.Their :will be.
a"county competition. early in'Oc-
tober and the , winner will `go to
the Zone competition and then the
finals.
The "prices have not been an
nounced as yet, but they' will be
comparable to last 'year when the
Queen received •a mixnaster and
the King a , skill saw. Along with.
this there will be a trip of three or
four days. ;Entries `should be sent
to, Box. 31.0, Clinton, at once..
Now that. fall:is here' we begin
to think of the Earth , Forum. Last
Year '. proved quite successful with
about the samb number of 'radio
foryms, and several new•TV Farm.
Forums in this area.
CKN.I will be: carrying' the for-
um on TV again- this year, and we
are hoping •for an even ,better' pro-
gram. A planning : meeting was
held: September 24, and the first
forum on TV will, be Wednesday,
November 4. •
While the' subjects' are definitely
farm topics; we are hoping they
will. be just• as interesting to•,the
urban, viewers as' they apparently
were. last year. in a .community
such as ,this, the problenis. on the
farm have a real bearing on the
prosperity of, the towns, 'A mutual
understanding• on farrii, shatters
