The new Supertest Service Sta-
tion, which is being officially open-
ed'this week, is the .second station
which Supertest has erected on the
same- location in, Seaforth.
The first Supertest Station ` in
Seaforth was opened on July 20,
Explain 'Origin
Of Supertest Name
The name "Supertest", came to
founder J. Gordon Thompson •one
evening in a . London moving : pie-
ture• show of the early 1920s.
"In those days," • he recalled,
"they' used to call the show of the
evening the "super feature." -: A.
competitor of mine -and by • the
way we passed him somewhere
along the line •-'was advertising
what he called ; "Hi, Test" gaso-
The word "super" :was"'a natur-
al, and . we incorporated as the
"Supertest Company."

When the first 'Supertest Station
in Seaforth; was built .more than 30•
years ago, it .was: amon& the first
of the buildings in Ontario that fol
lowed the modern concept of.a Ser-

garages without -special facilities

This was announced this week
by L: G. Bamforth, Division. Man-
ager of Union Gas'Company,,which
is distributing the,'bookiet in this.
area. The booklet has. been ,pub
lished by - the Canadian Gas As-
goeiation, in co-operation with -;'.its
member companies.
The 'booklet- "Which' ,deals ' -`with
all phases of accident;' prevention
in .the home, has been endorsed by
a 'large",number of- interested offi-
cials, and organizations. ,Christian
Smith, ,director « of health educa-
tion for, the Province ofSaskatehe-
wan, • describes it as°the best
some safety publication for public
education 1 have ever seen "
Organizations such 'as' the •Vic-
torian Order of Nurses, ,St, John
Ambulance • Corps, Canadian Red
Cross and Ontario Safety. League
have already exhibited interest and
a• willingness' to .support distribu-
,tion of the. booklet. The OSL has
just established: a homesafety bur-
eau, a1i plans extensive use of the
iooklet throughout the .province.
Mr. Bamforth` explained that the
gas company ' hopes to distribute
the booklet to:various.:Seafortli. or-
ganizations.. Copies of the booklet
are also available to meet indi-
vidual requests, and may . be; pick-
ed up at• the loeal gas company
