Presbyterianism ' in this commun-
ity. At the - beginning there were
two Presbyterian"cengregiations' in
Brussels,• until they were, 'united
and became one ' m-1895,.

which Melville' Church . is known
today. -
In 1854 the congregation worship••
ped in private houses,,but in 1556
the members 'agreed -'to erect a'
place of worship in.Ainleyville,now
Brussels. This was' the first church
in the village, and with an enthusi-
astic congregation the work •went
on from strength to strength. The
present building was erected. in
1914 and was redecorated in ,'tuty
of this year. •
