purposes..
It is being condueted by the Poul-
try .Division of the Canada Depart-
ment of Agriculture, in Co-opera-
tion tion with the Forest Products Lab
oratories and the Container 'Staffs -
ties -Institute,
One thousand cases. are being
used in' the experiment It involves
thestudy_of four; kinds of packing
material and 'seven different -cas-
es. The cases are of the same 'de-
sign, but made, of different mater
ials..
- The fillers are being tested • for
moistureabsorption and' ability to
maintain- • their c: shape-. and protec-
tive qualities The cases are be-
ing tested for resistance •'to .humid-
ity and for stacking strength.
The cases under study will be
examined hnd 'measured- weekly
forsagging and :,defection of the
material.: This is the seventh week,
for the experiment • If is estimated
the experiment will take from six
to nine -months to complete.
