Huron County Federation or Ag-
riculture directors. met in the Agri-
cultural Board rooms, ;Clinton, on.
Wednesday;. April 15, at 8:30
with. President Winston Shapton
presiding: The attendance was par-
ticularly good,' .,
Envoy Newman,' of the Salvation.
Army, . spoke briefly,' on. the work,
of the Army in the county. He :ex -
sed -the --highest appreciation
for the canvass undertaken' by the
Township Federations of -Agricul-
ture last year.
Agricul-ture:lastyear. He pointed out that
all monies ,collected by canvassers
conducted by organizations -'must
be spent on'welfare work :only.
Two thirds, at least, must be- spent'
in the area 'in. 'Which it is collect-
ed. ,

It was felt that as a county the
federation .couldir't, conduct such
a -canvass; tiut it -was recommend-
ed that the townships take on this'
job.
