of April, 1961, a resolution was
passed authorizing the volun-
tary dissolution of the said Cred-
it Union as of the 21st day of
April, 1961, under the provisions
of Section 54 of the Credit Un-
ions Act, 1960, RSO (Ontario).

The Brodhagen Band and ma-
jorettes took part in the Santa
Claus parade in Seaforth on
Saturday.
Linda May Scherbarth, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Scherbarth, was baptized dur-
ing the Sunday morning service
at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
by Rev. H. Brill. The sponsors,
along with the parents, were

munity Forum met at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mogk,

Library Meeting
The annual meeting of Wal-
ton Public Library was held at
the Library on Tuesday after-
noon, Nov. 28. The meeting op-
ened with a few remarks by
the chairman, Mr. Walter Short -
reed. Minutes of the last meet-
ing were read by the secretary,
Miss Ethel Dennis, also the
treasurer's report. Discussion
regarding getting more books
from the travelling library fol-
lowed, due to new members
joining.
Mrs. Torrance Dundas, lib-
rarian, gave a report on num-
ber of books received from the
travelling library and the pool,
stating that the librarian from
Goderich was willing to provide
any book requested if they were
on the shelves.
Redecorating of the library
was discussed and the follow-
ing committee, Mrs. Harvey
Craig, Mrs. William Coutts and
Miss Ethel Dennis, were left in
charge, with Mrs. T. Dundas to
help in choosing colors.
Any new members wishing to
join can join now for the com-
ing year and get the month of
December free reading. Library
is open every Tuesday after-
noon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and
Tuesday evening from 7:30 p.m.
to 9:30 p.m.
Election of officers for 1962
resulted as follows: President,
Walter Shortreed; secretary -
treasurer, Miss Ethel Dennis;
librarian, Mrs. Torrance Dun-
das.
The Hall Board held a pro-
gressive euchre party last Fri-
day night in the Community
Hall, Walton, with the follow-
ing as prize winners: ladies'
high, Mrs. Alex Dennis; low,
Mrs. John McDonald; gent's,
high, Bob Humphries; low, Gary
Bennett.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross McCall and
family have moved from their
farm, on the 8th of Morris, to
their new home in Brussels.
Miss Ethel Dennis spent the
weekend with Misses Helen and
Edna Robinson, at St. Cathar-
ines.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fraser
and family, of Stratford, visited
on Sunday with the former's
father, Mr. Malcolm Fraser.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bennett
were weekend guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Harris Bell, Elora.
Mr. Kenneth Ryan has been
transferred from the Beaver
Lumber Co. office at Merlin, to
Sutton. He visited with his
parents on Sunday en route to
Northern Ontario, where he
commenced work on Monday.
Mrs. G. Ryan, of Lucan, vis-
ited with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson
Reid on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Sotheran
of Fordwich, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Dougan on
Sunday.
Mr. Edward Davidson is at
present confined to Scott Mem-
orial Hospital, Seaforth.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ennis
and family and Mrs. A. W. Hone
of London, visited with Mrs.
Fred Ennis on Sunday.

Mr. Ralph Hicks was home
from Toronto for the weekend.
At the Luther League meet-
ing, held on Sunday evening,
Pastor Brill presented excerpts
from Handel's Messiah and gave
a short outline of the life of
the great composer. The presi-
dent, Roser Sholdice, was in
charge of the business and also
led the recreation. The meeting
closed with the Lord's Prayer.
Stewards of the Christian
Home (Married Couples Group)
met in the church basement
with Pastor Brill in charge of
the devotions and Mrs. Ronald
Hinz, pianist. Pastor Brill chose
as hie topic, "The Lord's Sup-
per," and a discussion period
followed. Ralph Fischer, the
president, Was in charge of bus-
iness. It was decided to have
the next meeting on December
27, in the form of a Christmas
social with exchange of gifts.
It was decided to install an
asphalt floor in the church
sheds for skating, the work to
be done by Lavis Construction,
Clinton, in a week or so. Dona-
tions toward this project will
be gratefully received. This
group is sponsoring the annual
Christmas Nursery party, to be
held on the afternoon of Dec.
14th. Lunch was served by Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar Elligsen, Mr.
and Mrs. Reuben Buuck and
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Prueter.

Plans For Xmas
Hurondale Women's Institute
convened for their November
meeting in Thames Road Unit-
ed Church Wednesday evening.
Hostesses were Mrs. Robert
•Maver, Mrs. Lee Webber, Mrs.
Almore Passmore, Mrs. Lorne
Oke, Mrs. Ernest Pym and Mrs.
Mac Hodgert. President Mrs.
Harry Dougall presided.
Mrs. Frank Lostell comment-
ed on the motto, "Don't work
all your life to make a living,
but work to live all your life.
Roll call was "a Canadian manu-
factured article used in my kit-
chen." A motion was passed to
sponsor the Foster Parent Plan,
this year's WI project, each
member to contribute $1.00 to-
wards sponsoring a child.
Christmas cards will be sent
to sister institutes and shut-ins.
The resignation of Mrs. El-
more Passmore, secretary -treas-
urer, owing to illness, was ac-
cepted with regret. Mrs. Lloyd
Ballantyne was appointed sec-
retary -treasurer for the remain-
der of the year, and Mrs. Mer-
vin Dunn as assistant secretary.
The program, Canadian In-
dustries and Agriculture, was
convened by Mrs. Roylance
Westcott, featuring a sing -song
by Mrs. Harry Strang and Mrs.
Andrew Dougall; Mrs. Wilfred
Hunkin was soloist, and accom-
panist was Mrs. Reg Hodgert. A
paper, "The Effects of Urban-
ization," was presented by Mrs.
Rhiney Keller. A letter from
their sister institute was read
by Mrs. Mervyn Dunn, which
will be replied to by Mrs. Ross
Oke. Mrs. William Elford ex-
tended courtesy remarks.
The December meeting will
be held in James Street United
Church, Exeter, Dec. 13 — two
weeks early on account of
Christmas gatherings.
