Co-op banquet, which was held
on Thursday, evening at Exeter
Legion Hall. They seined al-
most 200, people.
Mrs. Harvey Smith and Pen-

day with Mrs, Colin Gilfillen.
Mr. and Mrs. Elson Lynn and
family spent last Sunday at

The Elimville Mission Band
held a Hallowe'en party Friday
evening at the church with a
good crowd of children present,
prizes going to: Best disguise,
Herbie Heywood (tube of tooth-
paste); Hallowe'en costume,
(orange and black), Carol Bell,
Sandra Skinner; best couples,
Brenda and Dale Skinner, Don
Kerslake and Michael Elford;
best comic, Larry Skinner (can-
nibal), Debbie Hern (witch);
story book character, Susan
Parsons • (pig), Larry Fulton
(Robin Hood); best costume re-
presenting a country, Karen
Hern (Chinese), Jimmy Skinner
(Chinese); best representation,
Joan Lynn (nurse), Judy Wal-
ters (Indian). The group also
visited Cheryl Hern, who is in
a cast at her home on Sunshine
Line. Lunch was served at the
end of the party.
MISSIONARY WORK OUTLINED AT
NORTHSIDE WMS THANKOFFERING hn
About 25 ladies attended the
Woman's Missionary Thankof-
fering meeting in Northside
United Church on Tuesday eve-
ning, Oct. 24. The business
meeting was conducted by Miss
R. Fennell, president. Miss Fen-
nell also extended a welcome
to the guests from Ontario St.,
Clinton, Kippen, Constance and
the Mae Lane Auxiliary.
Group four was in charge of
the program, and it was con-
ducted by Mrs. N. Knight. The
theme was, "Harvesting the
Years," Thirty-six years ago
this month, the Missionary So-
cieties of the Methodist, Pres-
byterian and Congregational
Churches were united. The
same hymns and Scripture pas-
sages chosen for that inaugural
service, were used for this, the
last Thankoffering service of
the Woman's Missionary Socie-
ty as a separate organization.

Following Litany of Thanksgiv-
ing for the sowing of seed, Mrs.
R. Savauge read a meditation,
"The Harvesting of the Seed."
The offering was received
and dedicated by Miss R. Fen-
nell. Mrs. James A. Stewart
and Miss R. Cluff sang a very
lovely duet.
Mrs. J. C. Britton introduced
the guest speaker, Mrs. C. Park,
of Clinton. Mrs. Park showed
slides and gave a very interest-
ing talk on "Our Missionary
Work in Trinidad." Rev. and
Mrs. Park visited the mission
fields there recently and give
great credit to the Canadian
missionaries for the work they
are doing, but there is still
great need for more mission-
aries. Mrs, W. Bradshaw thank-
ed Mrs. Park for her splendid
talk, and Mrs. Britton closed
the meeting with the benedic-
tion.
A social half-hour was spent
together, when the ladies of the
congregation served a delicious
lunch.
