Equipped with the latest in Navigation Aids, the Alba- tross is unique in its ability to operate from land, water or snow covered surfaces. The RCAF is responsi- ble for all Search and Rescue operations in Canada. From British Columbia to Newfoundland, from the U.S. border to Canada's Arctic Archipelago, men of the RCAF's Search and Rescue organization stand ready to answer the call of distress. Search and Rescue operations include searches for lost aircraft, missing ships at sea, lost hunters and mercy missions. Fully loaded, including maximum armament of two machine guns and four 20 pound bombs, the Siskin tipped the scales at 3012 pounds. The latest RCAF fighter, the CF -104, flies faster than 1400 miles per hour and is capable of carrying a variety of the latest weapons.
