WMS Holds Open Meeting
Constance United Church WMS
held their open meeting last. Wed-
nesday, June 21. Mrs. Funge and
Mrs. William Dale received the
guests at the door. Mrs. W. L.
Whyte, the president, presided ov-
er the meeting and also welcomed
the visitors, who were from North-

forth; Senior Presbyterian, Sea -

After singing a hymn, Mrs. Don
Buchanan read the Scripture, fol-
lowed with prayer by Mrs. B.
Brown. Miss Mary Mcllwain sang
a solo, "Little Seeds." The offer-
ing was taken by Mrs. George Mc-
Ilwain and Mrs. Ken Preszcator,
after which the CGIT girls sang,
"Somebody Cares."
Mrs. MacGregor introduced Mrs.
H. Donaldson, of Seaforth, who was
the speaker for the afternoon. Mrs.
Donaldson brought greetings from
the Anglican Church, a different
name, but all in one for Christ.
She very fluentlyoutlined her ex-
perience in the mission field of
Chile, where she was raised as a
girl, becoming a missionary among
the Indians of Chile. After her
marriage to Rev. Donaldson they
did caravan work, and told of the
many hardships the people had to
live under, and her experience to
help, not only to go out and preach
the Gospel, but to teach the people
how to live; also told how the
Church there tried to bring them
the knowledge of God through
schools, hospitals, boarding schools
and the Church, and that we, as
Christians, are responsible to try
to make it possibte for mission-
aries to do worthwhile work. It is
a challenging work for all young
people to teach the love of Christ
which unites us all. After showing
many clothes of the country, Mrs,
Reg Lawson thanked the speaker
for her interesting talk and pre-
sented her with a gift.,„
Mrs. Whyte invited all to the
basement of the church where the
WA had prepared a bazaar table,
as did the CGIT girls. Mrs. Funge
offered the benediction. Everyone
enjoyed a delightful lunch.
