lace over taffeta with a scooped
neckline, sparkling sequins, simu-
lated pearls,--atid lilypoint sleeves.
She carried baby mums and white
carnations.
Miss Rosemary Lansink was
maid of honor, and Misses Mary
and Dianne Lansink, sisters of the
bride, all of Seaforth, were brides-
maids, wearing cherry red brocad-
ed taffeta street -length dresses
with matching hats, white gloves
and 'shoes. They carried bouquets
of white carnations.
Larry Jeffery, of Goderich, was
groomsman, and Henry Lansink,
brother of the bride, and Ronald
Willison were ushers.
Mrs. Alice Stiles presided at the
organ while Mrs. Mel Acheson was
soloist.
A reception followed at the Com-
mercial Hotel, Seaforth, and after-
wards at the home of"the bride's
parents,
For a trip to Quebec the bride
donned a beige and brown jer-
sey, a white hat and coral acces-
sories, and a carnation corsage.
On their return Mr. and Mrs. Gal -
low will reside in Goderich.
Guests were present from Gode-
rich, Toronto, Brussels, Hamilton,
Clinton, Ohio, Zurich and Seaforth.

Wins Treasure Books
Congratulations go Out to Mary
Mcliwain and Margy Whyte, of
this school, S.S. No. 3, upon win-
ning a Treasure Book for art and
writing in the school, an award
offered by the Brooke Bond Travel
and Educational Department.
This award will be entered for
the Provincial and National
Awards and will also become an
annual event. These treasure books
are books of knowledge and well
worth the effort of trying.

Last Thursday evening the La-

at their regular meeting, initiated

to attend on account of the death
of his wife.
Business matters were discuss-
ed on the annual barbecue, which
will be held on June 8, and a pot
luck supper to�ie held on June
15, to celebrate the birthday of
the court.
Sister Mary Riley is the dele-
gate to represent the Court at Vic-
toria, Vancouver, B.C., in June.
Recognition of $34.20 for the Can-
cer Fund was received by High
Court; $10 was also decided upon
for the Salvation Army.
After the business and the dos-
ing of the meeting, a debate was
the highlight of the evening: "Re-
solved that the farm youth are
more able .to handle life's prob-
lems than/the city youth." Sisters
D. Dolmae and 'J. Case upheld
the affirmative, while Sisters A.
Buchanan and J. Tebbutt,,the neg-
ative. The judges, which were the
new candidates, gave their deci-
sion to the affirmative. Prizes were
given -to the members taking part
by the Activity Committee. A
meeting of the District Council
will be held at this court on June
1. Lunch was served.

WALTON NEWS OF THE WEEK

The Walton Group held their
monthly meeting in the church par-
lor Wednesday evening with Mrs.
Ian Wilbee, Mrs. Gerald Watson
and Mrs. Ralph Traviss as host
esses. The president, Mrs. Win
Thamer, presided, opening with a
hymn. Prayer was offered by Mrs.
Ronald Bennett and Mrs. Emerson
Mitchell read a passage of scrip-
ture from Ephesians 6: 1-10.
The reader commented on the
the reading, offered prayer and
read a poem entitled 'Keep Me
Grateful", a Mothers' Day poem.
The topic was taken by Mrs. Alf
Anderson on 'Stewardship and Ser-
vice", ending with an appropriate
poem. The roll call was answered
with a parable, Minutes of the last
meeting were read by the secre-
tary, Mrs. Herb Traviss. The meet-
ing closed with a hymn.
Mrs. R. Bennett conducted a
quiz on Collosians after which
beautiful colored slides on Florida
were shown by Mrs. Herb Traviss.
Mission Band Meets
The May meeting of the Mission
Band of Duff's United Church, Wal-
ton, was held last Sunday morning
in the Sunday School room with 54
members present. Eric Williamson
presided and opened the meeting
with a hymn with Alexine William-
son at the piano. The Mission Band
Purpose was repeated in unison.
Larry Walters read the scripture
from Luke 19: 1-10.
The leader, Mrs. Walter Bewley,
explained the scripture, the story
of Zacheus, and told the children
that we must follow Jesus example
an ddo what we know is right in
spite of other people's opinions.
Betty Hellinga led in prayer and
Bruce Clark and Larry Walters
received the offering. Eric William-
son dedicated the offering with a
prayer. Minutes of the last meet-
ing were read by Jack McCall and
the treasurer's report was given by
Bruce Clark. Total receipts from
January to May 1 were $25.67.
Teachers for the different classes
were Mrs. Gordon McGavin, Mrs.
N. Marks, Mrs. A. Clark and Mrs.
Roy Williamson. The meeting clos-
ed with a hymn.

Report Sale Proceeds
The monthly meeting of the
Ladies' Guild, -of St. Mary's Church
was held at the home of Mrs. Dale
Anderson with Mrs. Friend presid-
ing. The meeting opened with a
hymn followed by scripture and
prayer. Mrs. Racho read the min-
utes of the previous meeting and
called the roll. The society were
pleased with the amount received
from the bakel'ess bake sale for the
month. Plans were made for the
Strawberry Tea to be held at Mrs.
Friend's home on June 14.
Mrs. H. Donaldson's reading,
"Padre, the Fisherman", was
enjoyed.

BARBARA KIRKMAN AUXILIARY
The Explorers, the CGIT and the
Children of the Church were guests
of the Barbara Kirkman Auxiliary
of ' First Presbyterian Church on
Tuesday evening. The groups were
welcomed by Mrs. Reg Kerslake,
the president.
Rev. D. Leslie Elder gave an
address telling some interesting
and educational stories. Miss Nora
Gorwill was in charge of the de-
votional -period when Miss Eleanor
Keys read the scripture lesson and
Miss Mary Jean "McLean led in
prayer.
A chorus by the Explorers, "How
Great Thou Art" was sung with
il(i>s Sally Cosford at the piano.
Miss Barbara Holland was the pian:

cf the children in charge of Mrs.
Elmer Rivers, entitled "Keep Sea -
forth Beautiful". The offering was
received by Donna Smale and by
Moira Malcolm and dedicated by
Wendy Fry. Misses Gillene and
Marie Elliott sang "Sweet Hour of
Prayer".
Mrs, Keith Sharp expressed kind
words of appreciation to those tak-
ing, part and to Rev. Elder for his
splendid talk. The meeting closed
with a hymn and prayer by Rev.
Elder.

Well, comrades and friends, we're
back again with a bit of news for
you. After a most enjoyable bowl -
ling schedule over the winter
months the finals have taken place
Powell, emerged the winner. Other
members of his team were Mrs.
Ken Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Dennis, Harold Nicholson and Mar-
garet Hudson.
To really wind things up, the
members of the league are going
to have a banquet and social sven-
ing, the date to be announced later.
At long last we are going to have
an official opening of the Legion
Hall on Friday, June 2. Qn account
of the importance of the occasion,
there is plenty of work to be done,
landscaping, painting and all that
goes with a general clean-up, so
let's turn out, comrades, and make
the place really shine. There is
quite a program connected with
the opening so, we are all hoping
for a real turnout of the comrades
and a break from the weatherman.
I'll have more details for you
next week so, until then, let's not
forget the ones who are not here:
"At the going down of the sun, and
in the morning, we shall remember
them."
