Join For Meeting
At Egmondviale
The regular meeting of the Eg-
mondville yiiMS and WA was held
in the Sunday schoolroom of the
church on May 10 with a good at-
tendance. Mrs. Alex Chesney, the
WA president, opened the meeting
with the WA theme fiong and pray-
er. The devotional service was
taken by Mrs. Ed. Boyes. A hymn
was sung, followed by Scripture
by Mrs. N. MacLean. Mrs. Ed.
Boyes gave a reading, followed by
prayer. Mrs. E. Durst and Mrs.
E. Stephenson sang a duet, "Ivory
Palaces," which was enjoyed by
all. Correspondence was read, fol-
lowed by the treasurer's report.
The meeting was then opened
for business. Mrs. E. Stephenson is
flower convener for May. The lead-
ership training school will be held
in St. Thomas in August. Report
of the WA Presbyterial was given
by Mrs. E. Stephenson, and a hymn
was sung.
Miss Frances Houston opened the
WMS meeting with all repeating
Psalm 737 in unison, followed by
prayer by Miss Houston. A hymn
was sung and an invitation to Win-
throp was accepted for June 7,
postponing our own meeting till
June 14. An In Memoriam fund
for Mrs. E. Hansuld is to be taken
at the next meeting. Mrs. William
Forrest, the Christian Citizenship
secretary, gave a report, followed
by Mrs. M. Haney, the Christian
Stewardship secretary, stated the
allocation was $470.00. A. report
of the WMS Presbyterial at Wing -
ham was given by Miss Rena Mc-
Kenzie. The treasurer's report was
given, followed by the offering
taken by Miss Mae Smith and Mrs.
Roy McGonigle. The study book
was taken by Mrs. M. Haney on
India, telling of poor condition of
hospitals and refugees.
The meeting closed with a hymn
followed by prayer. A social half-
hour was enjoyed ,by all, with
Group H serving lunch, with Mrs.
E. Stephenson and Mrs. N. Mac-
Lean as hostesses.
DILLON—At Scott Memorial Hos-
pital, on May 14, to Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Dillon, Seaforth, a
son. •
LOOMANS—At Scott Memorial Hos-
ital, en May 11, to Mr, and Mrs,
Anthony Loomans. Dublin, a
daughter.
NEILSEN—At Scott Memorial Hos-
pital, on May 13, to Mr. and Mrs.
Evan Neilsen, Seaforth, a son.
WATSON—In Clinton Public Hos-
pital, Clinton, on May 5, to Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Watson, Seaforth,
a son.

MacDOUGALL — William James
MacDougall, New Liskeard, be-
loved husband of the former
Agnes Jean Alexander, passed
away in St. Joseph's Hospital,
North Bay, on Sunday, April 23.
"I'll carry this case to the high-
est court in the land," said the
lawyer to the prisoner, "but in
the meantime, you'd better try to
escape."
