Mr. and Mrs. John Edmunds, of Mitchell, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kling on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Burns, of Allen Park, Michigan, and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Moylan, of Water- loo, spent last Wednesday with Mrs. Jean Fortune and Mr. John Kenny. - Mr. 'and Mrs. F. E. Mr. James R. Scott and Miss Katie Scott, of Ottawa, returned to their home here Wednesday. Mrs. Orville Oke is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, where she underwent an operation re- cently. DISCUSSES BROTHERHOOD ON VISIT TO HOME LODGE HERE An address on "Brotherhood" was given by Mrs. Joseph Grum- mett, D.D.P., of Huron District No. 23, when she officially visited her home lodge Monday evening. An enjoyable pot -luck supper, con- vened by Miss Mae Smith, preced- ed the meeting. The lodge's charter was draped in loving memory of Mrs. Norma Sills. Invitations - were accepted to attend meetings of Morning Star Lodge, Brussels, on Tuesday evening, and Pride of Huron, Ex- eter, on April 5, when Mrs. Grum- mett visits 'those lodges. A ban- quet is to precede the meeting at Exeter. An invitation was also accepted to attend the April 17 meeting of Majestic Lodge, Wingham, when Mrs. A. Fair, D.D.P. for South Kincardine district, visits their lodge officially. It was announced that Mrs. man McPherson, of Huronic Lodge, Clintpn, will be the incoming D. D. P. for Huron District, assum- ing office in June, following As- sembly Sessions in Toronto. Elect- ed at attend these sessions repres- enting Edelweiss Lodge were Mrs. Ed. Mrs. Hugh Thompson was named alter- nate -to these meetings. The District Annual is to be held at Seaforth on April 12, at 3 p.m., in the IOOF Hall, with Mrs. Hugh Thompson and Mrs. Ed. Andrews to be representatives to this meeting. Miss Jean Scott was named so- cial convener for the next three months. On behalf of the lodge, Mrs. H. Thompson presented Mrs. Grum- mett with a potted plant in a table planter. Following the meeting, Miss Mae Smith was winner in a "cake walk." 4 PRESBYTERIAN WMS First Presbyterian Church WMS held their spring thankofferinl=; on Tuesday with a good attendance of members and visitors. Miss Belle Campbell opened the meeting with a short. poem. Devotions were taken by Mrs. E. Geddes, Mrs. J. B. Russell and'Mrs. W. E. Butt. One -minute silence was observ- ed in honor of the late Mrs. D. J. Lane. Mrs. J. McGregor and Miss Jessie Fraser received the offer- ing. Prayer by Miss Campbell was followed by a solo by Mrs. Butt. Mrs. D. L. Elder introduced the guest speaker, Miss Sommerville, who brought a wonderful Easter message, "Sacrificed Christianity," and also showed slides of the Holy Land taken on her trip three years ago.
