Friday, March 17, is Dublin's Day—the day when the village honors St. Patrick. This year on St. Patrick's Day the village is looking to the future. A committee of three, E. J. Dean, George Goettler and Jack Wells, is busily investigating the possibility, of forming a chamber of com- merce for the village, The village trustees feel that there is a great need for such an organization and were instrumental in the forming of the committee. Inspecting trustee Louis Looby, in commenting on the proposed chamber, said there is a great need for a park in the village. He felt that this could become a pro- ject of the chamber, as had been the case in Brodhagen. Officials from the Department of Highways are expected to visit the village this week. Purpose of the visit is to make a survey of traffic conditions at the intersec- tion of the County Road and No. 8 Highway. Ultimate aim of the village trustees is to have the de- partment install a flasher light. The corner has been the scene of a number of serious accidents and several fatalities in recent years. Biggest event on the agenda for St. Patrick's Day is the annual school program Friday, and a re- peat performance Sunday after- noon. The program this year will be completely Irish. This year's show includes a play, "Miss. Molly," the cast made up of Gordon Butters, Debbie Deane, Maureen Looby, . Rosalie Duch- arme, Don Krauskopf, Michael,. MacRae and Catherine Loomans. In addition to the chorus acts, individual numbers are to be pre- sented by Patricia McLaughlin, Louanne Rowland, Tommy Goet- tier, Helen Looby and dancers. Mary Helen Duchamme, Mary Nagle and Nora Ann MacRae. E. C. Hartley, of Mitchell, school music supervisor, and Mrs. E. J. Deane, of Dublin, provide the mus- ical accompaniment for the school show. Art work for the concert is .pre- pared under the guidance of Moth- er Mary Charles, of the Ursuline Sisters, principal of the Separate School at Dublin. • PUPILS of the Separate School in Dublin are ready for their annual St. Patrick's .con- cert which they will present Friday evening and Sunday. afternoon. Busy practicing for the col- orful event are (upper picture),. left to right, Karen Russell, Yvonne Delaney, Patricia Benninger, Pauline McLaugh- lin and Mary Margaret Klink- hamer.
